For those of you who know me, you know how much I love the minimalist clothing lifestyle. There are so many benefits to wardrobe minimalism. Not only does it save time and money, but minimalism also requires a graceful synthesis of creativity and discipline.
Over the past three weeks, I have had quite a number of individuals comment on the new addition to my minimalist accessories - my large MICHAEL Michael Kors Tote in luggage (luggage is actually the name of the color). Before I begin, I must say that this bag was a very generous gift from my Best Friend! She totally surprised me with this bag on the day before her wedding! What a sweet & loving GEM! Currently, this exact bag is retailing for $278 at Bloomingdales. My friend informed me that the most strategic time to purchase would be on Cyber Monday - when deals are at their lowest for the most part. The outside is just the start - check out the inside!
There are so many things to love about this bag. The gold hardware is one of my favorite qualities. I wear A LOT of gold accent jewelry, so the gold hardware makes this purse a true accessory to any/all of my looks. The multiple side pockets allow me to store lipgloss, my compact, mints, cell phone (iPhone 6 plus) and really anything else that I can grab in a jiffy.
The straps are durable, and are wide enough to fit comfortably on my shoulder when I walk. They are also large enough to fit around a carry-on luggage handle, and the bag itself sits comfortably on top of my carry-on as well (check out my Insta pic below). Honestly, I do not utilize the inside clip very often. I suppose it is meant for keys. However, if my car was a "push to start" vehicle - I would certainly use this feature more since I wouldn't have to keep removing my car keys.
Last, but most certainly not least, the inside pocket has a zipper, which allows for much needed privacy - a necessity for any lady. The fabric allows this middle pocket to hold a large number of items at once.
A lot of people comment on the fact that my purse is so OPEN. That is definitely a valid concern. And after using it for quite some time, I have come to realize that it is actually the most convenient part about this purse. I can fit my Macbook Air in my purse without any issue. I can also put a pair of Beats headphones in there too. I can put my wallet, passport, mints, keys, sunglasses, compact, epi-pen (I have a severe tree nut allergy...WHICH I will blog about soon!), as well as my planner/journal - all without any issue. I do utilize the "lobster clasp closure" located at the the top of the purse. Doesn't look like much security from the picture, but it does make it that much more difficult for people to reach in and grab something. This bag quite literally never leaves my side. Is it weird if I told you I sleep with it next to me? TMI? Well, it looks like we just got a little bit closer now ;) This tote is a minimalist favorite for me!
